Sylvia Ferguson runs Sylvia Yoga.

She graduated from DCU with a BBS in 1990. In 2003 she received a teaching diploma from Yoga Therapy Ireland and she career since then has spanned across both sectors. Part time company director and part time yoga teacher, she has been teaching lunch time yoga and meditation classes in RTE since 2005.

She teaches online classes for students to follow in their own home. The yoga practice is a vibrant, mindful, all-round flow. It is suitable for complete beginners. The online audio practice is a deep guided meditation, Yoga Nidra, sleep of the yogi, designed to relax deeply and heal the nervous system.

Her passion is teaching mindfulness. She incorporates it into her daily life, into every yoga practice and into every class she teaches. Mindfulness has been shown to be a powerful tool to release and manage stress. By learning and practicing simple grounding and breathing techniques the mind becomes more peaceful, creating a calmer more balanced state of being. These techniques, when applied regularly, create an awareness of life grounded in deep meaning and authenticity. When mindful you become more accepting, more curious and more compassionate.

She teaches Hatha Yoga classes in RTE, the Yoga Hub, and in various other centres around Dublin. She was featured in Nationwide in May 2015 as a teacher that ‘exudes the calmness she aims to instil in her students’. Mindfulness Meditation Classes are ongoing in corporate venues. Clients include RTE, Maples and Calder, Artzone, BCW Group, SEB Bank. She is a regular teacher with the Yoga Hub Teacher Training Team.
